Mayor's Back to School Fair draws thousands

Thousands of families lined up Friday morning for the Dallas Mayor’s Back to School Fair.

The event at Fair Park was a way to get more than just free school supplies. The students got health screenings, immunizations and more.

There were performances by the Skyline High School cheerleaders and drum line and morning exercise activities.

Mayor Mike Rawlings and Dallas ISD staff members were also there to answer questions.

The doors opened at 8 a.m., but many families began lining up much earlier.
