What we know:

On February 2, 2025, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Lewisville to issue a boil water notice after a 30-inch line broke.

Residents are asked to boil their water before washing their hands and face, brushing their teeth, drinking it or cooking with it to destroy any dangerous bacteria.

Bottled water or water from other suitable sources can be used.

Many residents were without water for a time on Saturday night.

Crews worked to repair the pipe through the night.

On Sunday, health inspectors worked to call more than 600 restaurants to let them know about the boil water notice and how to safely operate.

What we don't know:

At this time, we don't know how long residents will have to boil water.

The city says the boil water notice will last at least a day.

A notice will go out to customers to let them know when the boil water notice has been rescinded.
