Jurors deliberating for a second day in Balch Springs officer's trial
DALLAS - UPDATE: The jury found Oliver guilty of murder on Tuesday afternoon.
-------
Jurors began their second day of deliberations Tuesday morning in the murder trial of former Balch Springs Officer Roy Oliver.
Oliver testified in his own defense during the trial. He talked about what he saw and how he reacted on the night he shot and killed 15-year-old Jordan Edwards in April of 2017.
Jurors sent a note to Judge Brandon Birmingham Tuesday morning saying they were in dispute over whether glass breaking on the car Edwards was a passenger in factored into Oliver’s decision to shoot.
Balch Springs Officer Tyler Gross broke the rear passenger side window as the car passed by him.
Jurors were given portions of the trial transcript where Oliver addressed it.
The jurors are expected to continue their work through lunch.
