John Wiley Price withdraws request for taxpayer help

Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price will not appear in federal court this week.

Price withdrew his request for financial assistance for his defense against corruption charges.

A judge had ordered him to appear on Tuesday and disclose more information about his personal finances.

The longtime political power broker faces bribery and tax evasion charges.

Three other people, including his chief of staff, are also charged.

Price can re-file a request for taxpayer help at any time.
