'I am Groot' goes viral -- as student's resume and cover-letter submission

Never underestimate a student's will to make the most out of an assignment.
Jeffrey Davis is U.S. Navy vet who is now a robotics teacher with the Wichita Falls Career Education Center.
The teacher recently asked his robotics students to make a resume and cover letter embodying Marvel superhero character. One student saw an opportunity and ran with it.
The student decided to use Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy. The character only says one phrase: “I am Groot.” So that was all the student put in every part of the resume.
Some of Davis' Navy friends saw his post and convinced him to make it public. Four days later, it went viral.
Davis says the student got an A on the assignment.
“The idea that you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take lives within one particular student of mine,” Davis wrote on Facebook.
