Hometown Heroes: American Legion Auxiliary Unit 275

The women of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 275 are proud of their loved ones’ military service.  In the unit’s second year, the members are mailing 19 care packages to Okinawa, Japan, Colorado and California.

Cookies, Cracker Jacks, toiletries, socks, nail polish and more let servicewomen and servicemen from Oak Cliff know they're not forgotten.

Now, Unit 275 wants to send care packages four times a year. They also want to expand and include military members from the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Unit 275 holds fund-raisers to buy the items they mail and accepts donations.
