Homeowner, suspect both killed in Dallas home invasion
DALLAS - Two men are dead after a home invasion turned into a shootout in southwest Dallas.
Police said a man opened fire after a break-in at his mobile home in the 3900 block of S. Ledbetter Drive around 1 a.m. Friday.
A masked suspect died at the scene. The homeowner was also shot and he died at the hospital.
Police believe two other men who showed up at an emergency room near Dallas Love Field were also involved. Their vehicle was covered in blood and police found a shotgun on the back seat.
One of them was taken to Parkland Hospital under police guard for surgery. The other was taken in for questioning.
The names of those involved have not yet been released.
