Hog hunters rescued from Trinity River
DALLAS - It took several agencies about two hours to rescue a group of hunters stuck in the Trinity River in southeastern Dallas County overnight.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Department said it got a call about people who needed help around 1 a.m. Tuesday.
Seven men and their dogs were reportedly hog hunting along the Trinity River between Belt Line Road and Malloy Bridge Road. Four men tried to wade across the river to get a hog they shot and got stuck.
Sheriff’s deputies got help from Dallas Fire-Rescue, the Wilmer Fire Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety’s helicopter to get the men and their dogs out. They also recovered the hog.
The men were treated for minor injuries.
