Generous FOX 4 viewers help support Panther Perks program

Special education students at Plano East Senior High School are getting plenty of support from FOX 4 viewers.

Last week, reporter Shannon Murray told the story of how they are learning job skills and bringing smiles to the staff of the school with their own coffee company called Panther Perks.

Every Monday, the 10 senior special ed students take orders. They make their coffee deliveries on Fridays. All the coffee, cups and condiments are all donated.

After the story aired, many viewers asked how they could support the program or donate to the students’ booming business.

Viewers sent the school checks, a Dallas police corporal designed new napkins for the program and someone donated a new coffee cart. The students even got a call from a mobile coffee catering company about a possible partnership.

Job Coach Ann Palesky said her students felt like rock stars just to be on TV. Now they’re all beaming.

Panther Perks had 85 coffee orders this week. That’s the most orders since the program started.

If you want to help the program continue to grow, the school has set up an Amazon wishlist for donations. You can also call the school at 469-752-9000 or take supplies to 3000 Los Rios Blvd Plano, TX 75024.
