GARLAND, Texas - Garland police are investigating a shooting that injured at least one person and damaged several cars on Friday night.

Garland police responded to a shooting on Highmont Drive on Friday, shortly before 7:30 p.m.
Officers were told that several people had gathered at the location and that there was an exchange of gunfire.
One person was shot and taken to the hospital. Several cars in the area were also hit by gunshots.
The man who was shot is expected to recover.
Police made one arrest.
