Garland PD: Hit-and-run driver arrested after leaving man for dead

Garland police have made an arrest in the hit-and-run that left a man critically injured.

A tip led officers Thursday afternoon to Miguel Angel Castro, 35, in Richardson. Investigators believe he was driving the minivan that hit Travis Gray, 29, on Wednesday on Action Street, a small road just off Forest Lane near Plano Road.

Surveillance video showed the driver getting out, looking at the injured man and then driving away. Gray is hospitalized in critical condition. Family members say the soon-to-be father of three remains unresponsive.

Castro is charged with failing to stop and render aid — serious bodily injury and possession of methamphetamine. His bond has not been set.
