Fort Worth PD shoots man who threatened officers with knife

Fort Worth police say officers shot at a man who threatened officers with a knife Wednesday afternoon.

Police say they were responding to a call in the 6300 block of Purington Avenue around 6:30 p.m. The caller told them a man inside the home was acting erratically and stabbing a bed with a knife.

When police arrived and approached the man, they said he threatened them with a knife. Officers responded by shooting him at least once.

The man was taken to a hospital for surgery, but his injuries are not expected to be life threatening.
