Former Cowboys player C.J. Spillman stands trial for sexual assault

Jury selection has begun in the trail of a former Dallas Cowboys player charged with sexual assault.

A Tarrant County grand jury indicted C.J. Spillman last June. He's accused of sexually assaulting a woman at the Gaylord Texan resort in Grapevine in September of 2014.

The team stayed at the hotel before a game against the St. Louis Rams. Spillman played in that game.

The assault allegedly happened one day after the NFL announced the league’s domestic violence crackdown.

Spillman continued to play with the Cowboys until the end of the 2014 season, but he hasn’t played for any NFL team since then.
