Fidelity $2.5M data breach settlement: See if you qualify

Customers of Fidelity Investments may be eligible for a payout after the company settled a $2.5 million lawsuit involving a 2024 data breach.
Before customers can receive a payout, the agreement must be approved by the court. A final approval hearing is scheduled for July 9.
How to file a claim
What you can do:
Customers who were impacted by the breach can file a claim on the settlement website.
The deadline to file a claim is July 27.
Customers could be eligible to receive up to $5,000 from the settlement.

The data breach took place between August 17, 2024 and August 19, 2024.
A third party accessed customer names and other personal identifiers, including Social Security numbers and driver’s licenses.
Fidelity was able to stop the unauthorized access on Aug. 19 after detecting the breach.
By the numbers:
Over 77,000 customers were impacted by the breach. An additional 86,000 customers whose financial accounts and routing numbers were compromised could also be eligible for a payout, according to a USA Today report.
