Easter Brunch Dessert

2 each 6x12 sheet of puff pastry dough

3 each granny smith apples

½ cup of pitted dates

¼ cup sliced almonds

3 tbs. brown sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

3 tbs butter

2 large eggs for egg wash

¼ cup brown caster sugar

¼ cup panko breads crumbs


Peel and cut apples into medium sized cubes and place in medium bowl.

Add dates, almonds, brown sugar, cinnamon, panko and mix.

Let this marinate while dough is being prepared.

Cut and form dough into rectangle shape needed and place on non stick cookie sheet.

Layer in apple mixture into center of dough.

Brush edges of dough with egg wash and fold edges over to hold apples in center.

Brush out side of dough with egg wash and sprinkle with caster sugar.

Bake at 375 for 30 to 45 minutes until golden brown.

Allow to cool to room temperature before cutting.
