Early morning shooting shuts down Stemmons Freeway

DALLAS - Police are looking for the man who shot at an ex-girlfriend and hit her friend on a Dallas freeway.

The women told police they were trying to get away from the man early Monday morning. They said he fired shots at their car on the Stemmons Freeway, which is Interstate 35 near Downtown Dallas.

At least six bullets hit the woman’s car. Her friend was hit but not seriously hurt.

Dallas police have not released the name of the suspected shooter, who drove away and is still at large.

Several lanes of the freeway were blocked Monday morning for the investigation. It is now open again.
