Donation from Toyota saves Dallas Holiday Parade
Dallas Holiday Parade organizers announced Friday that Toyota saved the parade by signing up to be the new presenting sponsor.
Parade organizers said Toyota, which just opened its North American headquarters in Plano this year, stepped forward in the eleventh hour with funding for the parade.
The annual parade was sponsored by Children's Medical Center for about 30 years, but the hospital ended its sponsorship this year. Organizers went public late last week about the need for sponsors and said the parade would be canceled if enough funding couldn’t be secured.
Other parade 2017 sponsors include The Statler Hotel, Downtown Dallas, Inc., Visit Dallas and the State Fair of Texas.
More than 5,000 volunteers are now working to make the celebration happen in two weeks on Dec. 2.
