Dallas Fire-Rescue says they found the body of a man who went missing Sunday afternoon in Lake Ray Hubbard.

Divers were called in to search for the man – who friends identify as 28 year old Sreyas Antony of India— after he jumped into the water from railroad tracks and didn’t resurface.

Sreyas was last seen by a group of kayakers who say he was bobbing in the water in distress before he went under about 12:30pm.

Within minutes of a call to 911, Dallas Fire-Rescue, Parks and Wildlife officials as well as Rowlett Police began searching for Sreyas using boats and sonar equipment.

Officials say the water near the bridge where the Sreyas went missing is between 12 and 13 feet deep and is a dangerous place to swim.

“We definitely don't want people to go there because there's a lot of old fishing lines and trout lines that have been put underneath there and quite a few fishermen in that area,” said Battalion Chief Ray O’Dell with Dallas Fire-Rescue. “Chance of getting entangled there is pretty good.”

Sreyas’ friends stayed gathered at the boat launch site waiting for word from searchers. They say he works in Michigan and was visiting DFW for the weekend.
