Jail records show Devereaux had previously been arrested multiple times on criminal trespass charges for trying to enter women's locker rooms.

In January 2025, Devereaux was arrested by Texas Women's University police on charges of criminal trespass and resisting arrest. Police said Devereaux was allegedly attempting to follow a female victim into the bathroom. Despite being banned from TWU's campus for five years, he was seen on campus eight days later in a men's restroom.

Later that year, in August 2025, Devereaux was arrested by the Denton County Sheriff's Office for criminal trespassing. In 2017, Devereaux was arrested for aggravated sexual assault by Aubrey police. FOX 4 was unable to find the outcome of that case.

What they're saying:

FOX 4's David Sentendrey spoke to several UNT students who talked about their concerns regarding the incidents.

"It’s just crazy to me how this happened, you know," Mea Banda told Sentendrey. "I know if that happened to me, I would be honestly terrified, and I wouldn’t even feel safe here anymore."

"Typically, as soon as someone gets released, they just go back to old habits that they have," Banda said.

Amber Repasy had similar concerns. ""Oh yeah, first off is like, whoa, what do I do?" she told Sentendrey.

"And it’s like, hey, are we safe to go in and come out of the restroom? You know what I mean? So it’s pretty crazy," Repasy continued.

Victims that spoke with police were able to identify Devereaux by his backpack with small green dinosaurs printed on it.

The backstory:

Jeremiah Devereaux was arrested on Jan. 31 following a series of incidents in women’s restrooms and locker rooms at a local gym and two university campuses, police said.

Denton man charged with indecent exposure at University of North Texas

A 27-year-old man was arrested after allegedly entering women's locker rooms and restrooms at a Denton gym and the University of North Texas campus.

Jeremiah Devereaux was taken into custody Saturday, Jan. 31, after officers responded to a criminal trespass call in the 1300 block of S. Loop 288. Witnesses at a local gym reported that a man had entered the women’s locker room, sauna, and bathroom. Devereaux allegedly ran from the scene but was arrested by officers on an outstanding theft warrant.

The arrest led to a joint investigation involving the Denton Police Department and the University of North Texas (UNT) Police Department.

Authorities linked Devereaux to an indecent exposure incident that happened Friday, Jan. 30, at the UNT campus, where a man reportedly exposed himself to a woman in a restroom at Willis Library. UNT Police subsequently obtained a warrant for his arrest in that case.

The victim told police she heard someone knocking on the door to her bathroom stall. When she opened the door, Devereaux was standing in front of her, exposing himself.

What's next:

Devereaux is currently in the Denton County Jail, where his bond is set at $5,000. Police believe there are more victims.
