Dash for Dignity
Mike Doocy served as emcee of the Dash for Dignity for the 23rd time on Saturday in Irving.
The annual 5k run and 1 mile fun run benefits Citizens Development Center, which is a nonprofit agency that empowers adults with disabilities to reach their highest level of independence and employment.
The event has evolved many times over the years and now includes a street fair with food vendors, children's activities, performers and music. Registration was also complimentary for all police officers and firefighters.
The event’s signature sponsor was Clay Cooley Auto Group.
“The financial and in-kind support provided by the Clay Cooley Auto Group increases the amount of revenue that CDC can allocate to over 500 adults with disabilities in need of employment each year,” said Tim Allen, CDC Executive Director.
