Dallas police officer arrested

A Dallas police officer is in jail.

Police arrested Richard Council for family violence assault and for interfering with an emergency call.

Police said he is a three year veteran with the department and assigned to the Northwest Patrol Division.

Council is on administrative leave pending an internal affairs investigation.
