Dallas pastor blames mayor, newspaper column for billboard controversy

DALLAS - A megachurch pastor blames the mayor of Dallas and the Dallas Morning News for the removal of a controversial billboard.
The ad promoted a sermon by First Baptist Church of Dallas Pastor Robert Jeffress. The title of the sermon was “America is a Christian Nation.”
Jeffress blames the mayor and a column in the newspaper that criticized the billboard. He said the company that owns the billboard pulled the ad.
“It has ignited a national firestorm. People cannot believe that a billboard company would do this and they certainly can’t believe the mayor of a city like Dallas would express such hostility toward a message that America is a Christian nation,” Jeffress said.
The same ads are now on digital billboards owned by another company.
