Dallas opens temporary overnight shelter due to social distancing at other shelters

Dallas is opening a temporary, overnight shelter at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center on Sunday after social distancing at other shelters caused them to not have enough beds.

The shelter will open at 5 p.m., Sunday, March 15, and continue through the morning of Saturday, March 21.

It will be open from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m.
