83-year-old man arrested for Dallas cold case murder

DALLAS - An 83-year-old man is accused of murdering an elderly woman in Dallas more than 40 years ago.
What we know:
Dallas police said Willie Jones was arrested on Jan. 16 for a parole violation related to a sexual assault.
While he was in jail, officers collected a DNA sample from him. That sample turned out to be a match to a cold case murder.
Virginia White was found dead in her home on Furey Street in Dallas on Dec. 14, 1981.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit, she had been sexually assaulted and strangled.
White was 81 years old at the time, and Jones was 40.

A suspect has been arrested after DNA evidence connected him to a pair of crimes committed against children in the 1990s.
What they're saying:
When investigators interviewed Jones, he denied having any knowledge of White or the crime.
"Suspect Jones denied that he would ever have sexual intercourse with a woman of that age and continued to deny any involvement in her death," the affidavit states.
However, forensic scientists confirmed the probability of the DNA match being wrong was less than 1 in 10 trillion, according to the police document.
What's next:
Jones is facing charges for capital murder.
