Dad charged after toddler accidentally shoots sister

TERRELL, Texas - Terrell police arrested the father who left his children unattended in a car with a loaded gun.

Elroy Middleton was arrested Wednesday on a warrant for making a firearm accessible to a minor.

Earlier this month, his young daughter was shot by her 3-year-old sister. She is recovering from her injuries.

Middleton admitted he left the girls in the car with the 9 millimeter gun. He said he put the gun under the seat and didn’t expect his children to find it.
