Burleson worker in critical condition after cell phone tower rescue

BURLESON, Texas - A cell phone worker is in critical condition after coming into contact with a high-voltage wire at the top of a cell tower in Burleson.

What we know:
The Burleson Fire Department responded to a power substation in the 800 block of N. Burleson Boulevard just after noon.
The department says cell phone workers in the area accidentally came into contact with a high-voltage line about 15 stories in the air. The crew had been working on the area since 9 a.m.
There were three workers on the tower, two of them were able to safely make it down. The third one was stranded on the tower with critical injuries.
Power was cut off to a large portion of the city to ensure emergency rescuers could work safely.
The aerial rescue was completed at 3:50 p.m.
The worker was then taken to a hospital burn unit in critical condition.
What we don't know:
No identifying information has been released about the cell phone worker.
Oncor says it was not one of its employees.
What they're saying:
"These types of responses are physically demanding on the body and use different muscle groups than what most people are used to using. All of these factors were met with chilly temperatures and winds that kept the pole swaying back and forth 150 feet in the air… while meticulously trying to do what needed to be done," Fort Worth Fire officials said in a social media post.
"Well deserved hugs and high-fives were given out by the firefighters, who were happy that all of our training paid off and brought the best possible outcome for this patient and his loved ones. And… everyone went home safely."
