'Abortion abolitionists' protest outside Frisco high school

FRISCO, Texas - A Frisco high school sent home a letter with students after abortion protestors showed up with graphic posters on a sidewalk across from the school.

The signs outside Reedy High School depict human fetuses and body parts and are all part of "The Wall of Death and Truth." The group -- calling themselves abolitionists -- also posted a video last week from Reedy that shows one man talking to two students about how abortions are performed.

The district sent a letter to parents last week that said in part: "There are a few people holding signs that are very graphic in nature and may not be appropriate for younger children...please understand that we do not have the authority to restrict access to public sidewalks and permits are not required.”

A mother says she supports freedom of speech but thinks the protesters have picked the wrong audience for their graphic message.

“I think that morality and these types of topics and things should be taught and discussed inside the home and I don't need anyone out here exposing my children to things like this,” said Amy Stephens.

The abortion protest leader says they did not choose the school or the timing of the demonstration for political reasons. He says they go to different schools in the area as opposed to clinics because they feel by the time the teen is at the clinic it's too late.

“We hope that the children won't grow up to be apathetic and complacent like their parents. When kids see this they absolutely disagree with abortion, they absolutely disagree with killing babies. Kids are on our side,” said Todd Bullis, Abolitionist Society of Little Elm.

Bullis said Friday is the last day of protests outside Reedy HS, but the group plans to be at another school in the area sometime soon.
