1st boat ramp opens on Joe Pool Lake after being closed due to flooding
Weeks of rain in April and May rain forced many local lakes and parks to close but one by one, they’re starting to open up.
Lynn Creek Park at Joe Pool Lake was opened by City of Grand Prairie officials Saturday morning at 6:00.
Camp sites, the boat ramp and the swim beach at Loyd Park also opened Saturday morning. The Loyd Park boat ramp is the first one to open this summer at Joe Pool Lake.
The marinas on the lake remain closed. Also, no boat fuel is available on the lake.
