100-year-old volunteer returns to State Fair of Texas
DALLAS - A State Fair of Texas volunteer is especially proud to be working at the event again this year.
Rose Landin is 100 years old. This year is her 25th year volunteering at the fair’s hospitality center, where she hands out schedules.
She first attended the State Fair of Texas when she was just 7 years old. Eventually, she started going with her husband and kids. Her daughter, Cathy, is a long-time employee of FOX 4.
Landin hopes this year won’t be her last.
“Well, I hope they let me do it next year but if they don’t that’s their business. I hope I can do it,” she said.
She is also a proud, decades-long breast cancer survivor.
