Mom praises North Texas hairdressers who cut hair of son with autism

A North Texas mom is thankful for the patience of folks at a hair salon who were so kind to her son with autism.

Candace Hines said her 5-year-old son, Brock, was diagnosed with autism when he was just 2 years old. He struggles with communication, social and sensory integration.

Getting a haircut really is a challenge for Brock because of all the sounds and the sensations. Mom said she put it off so long.

But she was full of praise for the hairdressers at Global Group Hairdressing Salon in Dallas who helped out. Three stylists worked at the same time and gave Brock a blow dryer to keep him amused and distracted.

Hines said her son walked in very apprehensive and left with a smile and a great haircut.
