Bring on the heat and humidity

The GOOD news? Looks like we'll now only hit 100 ONCE. The BAD news? It's because we'll be crazy humid instead.

WINDY today. That keeps humidity HIGH and temps a bit lower in mid to upper 90s. The HEAT INDEX will be 101-105 with generally sunny skies.

South breezes continue Friday with dewpoints holding near 70. Temps will inch up into the upper 90s (100 western counties), so the heat index may be 102-106.

Heat ADVISORIES are likely for Saturday as a cold front approaches. That will turn the winds to the SW. Humidity may be a but lower, but temps will soar over 100 most areas. The record is 104...and we'll make a run at it.

Saturday evening, a cold front will be in NTX and that should be enough to trigger a few storms (20%) but they would easily have gusty winds.

By Sunday, a north wind should keep temps down into the low to mid-90s along with partly to mostly sunny skies and drier air.

As the front stalls Monday, we stay hot (90s) but a disturbance moving in from the NW could trigger more storms...especially at night (what we call a convective complex). We'll have to watch for that.

After Tuesday, it looks like HOT, humid but rain-free conditions build back in next week.
