Some Dallas Mavericks season ticket holders offered refunds after Luka Doncic trade

Some Dallas Mavericks season ticket holders say they've been offered refunds in the wake of the Luka Dončić trade.

Ticket reps for the team have been flooded with calls in recent days.

Luka put fans in the seats, no question. Now, some fans are questioning the future of their season ticket seats.                     

What we know:

Michael Civello and his wife have been Mavs season ticket holders for 10 years.

"We love our team," he said. "We love our players, and we’re extremely loyal to them."

Civello is devastated at what’s been described as the most unexpected trade in NBA history, sending Luka Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers primarily in exchange for Anthony Davis.

The trade has some season ticket holders evaluating their investment.

Civello is one of a growing number of season ticket holders FOX 4 found on social media who say the Mavs are offering them a refund for remaining home games because of the trade.

The Dallas Mavericks are playing in Cleveland on Sunday, but fans still showed up to the American Airlines Center to express their frustration with the team's decision to trade Luka Dončić.

"On all the remaining games if I were to cancel," he said. "And it would also take away my membership moving forward."

Add Misti Skidmore and her husband to the list of season ticket holders who say they were offered a refund. 

"It’s hard to support an organization that would do what they did," she said. "I really feel like they treated Luka dirty."

Skidmore plans to keep her tickets for this season, especially for April 9 when Luka returns to Dallas with his new team.

"And I hope we give him the biggest standing ovation," she said.

Civello also plans to stick with his Mavs for this season but is reconsidering next season.

"I still want to support the team and the players. It’s not their fault," he said. "I really have no intentions of renewing for next season."

The team provided a statement that neither confirmed nor denied the refunds, saying "We value every season ticket member relationship and reps are available to take calls from members with any concerns or questions."

By the numbers:

Civello says a refund on the remaining games for his family’s seats is close to $2,000.
