Jared Leto makes pit stop at Texas Motor Speedway for special ride
Oscar-winning actor Jared Leto visited Texas Motor Speedway Wednesday morning to take a ride of a lifetime.
A lot of celebrities will make their way to Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth this weekend for Race Week.
Bret Michaels will headline the pre-race show. Nany former championship drivers will make an appearance. Even Academy Award winner Jared Leto stopped by to promote his new album and do something some might consider to be a little crazy.
Leto is an accomplished actor, the lead singer of ‘Thirty Seconds to Mars,’ but he’s never been in a stock car. It’s something he's thought about doing for some time.
“My grandparents for a short while lived in Indianapolis,” he said. “And you could hear the roar of the crowd and the cars on the track.”
To get the word out for his new album ‘America,’ Leto teamed up with Tyler Reddick to change his paint scheme for his car in the Xfinity series. Peaking at more than 150 miles per hour, Let says it was a sensation he'll never forget.
“The ride was incredible. There was a fine line that I rode between panic and joy,” Leto said. “Couple of times, I thought the car was gonna go flying across the track. I honestly did. When I saw the checkered flag, there was a little relief. But I'd do it again.”
Coverage of the My Bariatric Solutions 300 will begin Saturday at 1:30 p.m. on FOX 4.
