Highland Park falls to Comal Smithson Valley in state championship

The Highland Park Scots came up short in their state championship game in Arlington on Saturday.

The Scots lost 32-20 to Comal Smithson Valley in the Conference 5A Division 1 title game.

Highland Park led at the end of the first quarter, but trailed at halftime. The Scots offense was shut out in the second half against the stout Rangers' defense.

Highland Park QB Buck Randall threw for 316 yards and two touchdowns, but also threw two interceptions in the loss.
