Elvis Andrus named to the Texas Rangers Baseball Hall of Fame

ARLINGTON, Texas - Longtime Texas Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus has been named to the team's Hall of Fame.

Andrus played for the Rangers from 2009 to 2020.
His infectious personality and big smile quickly won over fans in Arlington.
Andrus was named to two All-Star teams and helped lead the Rangers to two World Series appearances.
He also played for the Oakland Athletics and Chicago White Sox before retiring as a Ranger on Sept. 6, 2024.
The native of Venezuela will work as a pre and postgame analyst for select games on the Rangers Sports Network in 2025.
By the numbers:
Andrus played for 12 seasons with the Rangers with a .274 batting average, .330 on-base percentage, 76 home runs, 636 RBI and 305 stolen bases.
He holds the Rangers career playoff records for games (42), at bats (173), hits (46), and stolen bases (9).

What we know:
Andrus, 36, will be the 27th member of the Texas Rangers Baseball Hall of Fame.
He will be inducted into the Rangers Hall of Fame before the game on Saturday, June 28 against the Seattle Mariners.
He will be the youngest person ever selected for the Rangers Hall of Fame.
The Texas Rangers Archives Vault will have a special exhibit on Andrus on the upper suite level near the Southeast Entrance at Globe Life Field beginning in late March.
What we don't know:
The Rangers have not announced which teammates will attend the ceremony for Andrus.
Several teammates showed up for ceremonies honoring Adrian Beltre, Ian Kinsler and Michael Young.
