Dallas Cowboys interview Leslie Frazier for head coaching job
DALLAS - The Dallas Cowboys said they have completed an interview with Seattle Seahawks assistant head coach Leslie Frazier.
What we know:
Frazier is the third person the team has interviewed since announcing Mike McCarthy’s departure.
Frazier played cornerback in the NFL, winning a Super Bowl with the 1985 Chicago Bears.
He made stops at several teams on the defensive side of the ball before getting the head job in Minnesota.
Frazier was fired in 2013 after going 21-32-1 in Minnesota.
The interview fulfilled the NFL’s Rooney Rule, which requires teams to interview at least two external minority candidates in person for open head coaching positions.

What we don't know:
It has been a long time since Frazier has had a head coaching job.
Is it the right fit for the Cowboys?

What we know:
Former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh completed an interview with the Cowboys on Saturday, Jan. 18.
Saleh was fired after a disappointing season with the New York Jets.
During his time in New York, he only posted a 20-36 record in a little more than three seasons.
Despite the struggles in New York he has been credited with building strong defenses in the past.
Saleh was the defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers from 2017 to 2020 before taking the Jets job.
What we don't know:
Does Saleh want to back into a job where he's under the microscope?
The coach is one of the hotter names among teams around the league.
Some believe the circus surrounding the New York Jets may have kept Saleh from succeeding and there is no bigger circus in the league than coaching the Dallas Cowboys.
Could Saleh opt for a lower profile job or, as has been reported, go back to San Francisco, where he could be the highest paid defensive coordinator in the league?

What we know:
Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore had a virtual interview with the Cowboys on Friday, Jan. 17.
The Cowboys know Moore well.
He played for Dallas as a backup quarterback from 2015 to 2017.
Moore then became the team's quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator.
What we don't know:
Do either side want to reunite?
The Cowboys thought highly of Moore at one time, but allowed him to walk.
Dallas and Moore "mutually agreed" to part ways after the loss in the 2023 playoffs.
Moore went on to become the offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers for a season.
He then joined the rival Philadelphia Eagles as an offensive coordinator.
