Woman shoots at man who threw Slurpee at her
HARRISON TWP, Mich. - A Macomb County woman could spend life in prison after she shot her gun at another driver for throwing a Slurpee at her.
The entire scene was captured on surveillance video at Crocker and Metro Parkway in Harrison Township. The cars pull up, one is a Lexus, the other is Chevy pickup truck. As the two get to the light, the man in the pickup gets out and throws a Slurpee at the woman. Then she pulled her gun and shot at him.
India Marchea McDougal is a licensed CPL holder and she was driving her Lexus Wednesday when she fired a single shot at the Chevy.
What caused the fight between the two? Apparently, a dispute over her driving.
As it got heated, he threw his Slurpee, inside a Styrofoam cup, at the woman. She pulled her gun and shot at him. He went straight through the light and she turned right, and called police.
She said she feared for her life and that the man walked up to her vehicle, but the video shows otherwise: he never left his driver's door.
McDougal was on the phone with dispatchers as police came to her. She said the man walked up to her vehicle, but the video shows otherwise: he never left his driver's door.
He did admit to dispatchers he threw the Slurpee at her from his truck.
"They did get into a heated argument, he does admit to rolling down his window and throwing, I think it was a Slurpee, at her vehicle. He did get out of her car, at which time she fired a round," Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said.
Evidence techs pulled a bullet that was shot from McDougal's gun from the armrest of the pickup.
She's facing multiple charges including assault with intent to murder, which carries a penalty of up to life in prison.
She was given a $750,000 cash-or-surety bond. The male subject also faces several misdemeanor charges because his license was suspended at time.
