FORT WORTH, Texas - Fort Worth police are investigating a murder that happened just before the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve.
The victim was a young woman who was reportedly attending a party at a rental venue near the South Freeway and Berry Street.
Police said a large fight broke out at the party and multiple people started firing shots. The woman was caught in the crossfire.
She was described by police as an innocent bystander who was trying to flee the building. She died at the scene.
Police are still waiting for the medical examiner to confirm the woman’s identity. Her name has not yet been released.
