Rain and some wet snow flakes likely caused several accidents in North Texas Thursday morning.

Two northbound lanes on Interstate 35W at Highway 121 in Fort Worth were closed for several hours because of an overturned 18-wheeler.

The driver apparently lost control and hit a guardrail, causing the truck to roll. The crash caused a traffic backup for miles, but no one was seriously hurt.

Also in Fort Worth the driver of a pickup truck ran a red light on Milburn Street. He hit a car and a city bus, leaving six people with minor injuries.

Dallas police said there were nearly 70 crashes overnight because of the wet streets and reduced visibility. One accident involving two cars on northbound Harry Hines Boulevard near Shorecrest Drive was fatal.

Someone rear-ended a Birdville ISD special education bus on Highway 26 in North Richland Hills. There were students on board at the time, but none were hurt.

Another Arlington ISD bus ended up in a ditch near Silo Road and Diamond Oaks Court. But there were no children on board.
