VIDEO: Drunken driver nearly hits Forest Hill officers
FOREST HILL, Texas - Police in the Fort Worth suburb of Forest Hill released frightening video of a suspected drunken driver nearly hitting two officers.
The two officers helped several people push a disabled vehicle off the road last Thursday night on Loop 820. They were waiting on the shoulder for a wrecker.
Carter Stephens, the stranded truck passenger, says it all happened quickly.
“As soon as I heard the noise of the tires I just got out of the way all I could think to do was run,” Stephens said.
Dashcam video shows them running out of the way as a speeding vehicle raced past them, hitting their squad car.
"This one was very close call it shocked us, it angered us, it sickened us all at the same time to think of what could have happened,” said Forest Hill PD Capt. Jerry Cozby.
The squad car was heavily damaged, but thankfully, no one was hurt.
Police arrested the driver for driving while intoxicated. He was identified as 26-year-old Cedric Henson.
