UPDATE: A huge party with hundreds of teenagers ended in Chaos Friday night, when someone started shooting a gun. 17-year-old Vincent Warren is in ICU.

The unknown shooter started firing after police showed up, around 10:30 P.M. at a southeast Oak Cliff community center on Tioga Street.

The injured teen’s dad tells Fox 4 his son was shot in the side, and the bullet went through his spine. The boy underwent surgery Saturday morning and is heavily sedated. His family is worried he’ll never walk again.

The teen’s father says he initially heard his son was shot by a police officer. After further investigation, police say, they found no evidence one of their officers fired on the teen. His father believes his son was caught in the crossfire and the bullet was not meant for him.

Warren’s family says the surgery went fine, and they’re expecting him to pull through.

Dallas police are investigating a claim that one of their officers shot a teenager.

Police were called to a disturbance at a community center on Tioga Street in southeast Oak Cliff around 10:30 p.m. Friday.

While inside the building, police heard gun shots. When the officers went outside, they found 17-year- old Vincent Warren shot.

Extra officers were called in to help disperse the crowd of several hundred teenagers.

Witnesses told the back-up officers, the teen was shot by the first officers who arrived on scene.

No physical evidence has been found to support that claim, police said.

Warren's family tells FOX 4 the teen had surgery this morning and his now heavily sedated.
