Two people shot in Dallas motel parking lot
A suspect is in custody after two people were shot at a Dallas motel Wednesday night.
The shooting happened around 6 p.m. in the parking lot of a motel on Interstate 35, just north of Mockingbird Lane.
Police responded to the scene after receiving a 911 call about a shooting at the motel. When officers arrived, they found a man and woman shot in the parking lot.
Police say it started with an argument between an unidentified man and a woman, whose relationship is unclear. At some point, the argument escalated, and the man allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the woman in the stomach.
Police say the woman's brother who was nearby ran over and allegedly shot the man in the neck.
The brother of the woman shot was questioned by investigators on scene and taken in for questioning but has not been charged.
The two victims remain in critical condition at Parkland Hospital.
The property manager was on scene but declined to make any comment.
