Two injured after gunfire erupts outside Deep Ellum club

Two people were hurt after a man opened fire on a group outside a club in Deep Ellum overnight.

Investigators say everything started with a fight between two groups of people inside the Curtain Club on Main Street. The argument appeared to be over until the suspect opened fire outside the club.

Just after midnight, officers found a man in his 20s lying in the street with six gunshot wounds.

Police believe the gunman was in one of the two groups fighting inside and he decided to go to his vehicle and get a gun. He got out of his car with the gun and fired about a dozen shots before jumping back in and driving off.

The victim was hit four times in his torso and once in each leg. Paramedics took him to Baylor University Medical Center in critical condition.

A woman also showed up at Baylor with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Police say she was walking in the area and was hit by a stray bullet. She had no connection to the incident and was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Police are still looking for the shooter and believe he is driving a white Chrysler sedan without a rear plate.
