Teen girl dead, boyfriend critically injured in Fort Worth shooting

A 17-year-old girl was shot and killed in double shooting at a house in south Fort Worth. Her boyfriend was also wounded and was at the hospital in critical condition on Wednesday.

Neighbors said they heard three shots last night about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday on Bee Tree Lane, near Sycamore School Road and McCart Avenue.

The young woman found shot to death inside was old Nancy Mata, 17, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner.

A man in his early 20's ran out of the house wounded and screaming for help and was able to make it across the street to a neighbor who called 911.

A neighbor said the couple had been renting the house for about a year. Witnesses told police a car load of people pulled up to the house and the shots were fired soon after that.

Police said they have not made an arrest and they need information from anyone who can provide any clues.

A friend said she went to school with Mata at Paschal High School until Mata left school in 2014.

“I know her sister and her family they were family friends of my boyfriend she was really fun she was a cheerful girl,” said Desiree Davila.
