Teen argument in The Colony ends with violent crash
An argument early Thursday morning ended with a truck running into a house and two people in critical condition.
Police in The Colony in southeast Denton County said the driver of the pickup truck was speeding, lost control and crashed into part of a home on Blair Oaks Drive.
The driver was ejected as the truck started to roll. He and another young male were taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Two other young men were hospitalized with less serious injuries. A fifth who fled the scene also later showed up at the hospital for treatment.
"My wife woke me up and said, ‘Hey, somebody hit the side of the house.' I jumped up and went out the front door. I saw a kid laying out in the street and some people attending to him. I saw the vehicle and the corner of my house," said Greg Gray, the homeowner.
Around the time of the accident, another group of young men called police saying those in the truck had smashed up their car with bats. They said they were being chased and rammed by the truck when the crash happened.
Officers encouraged them to stop at the police station for an interview.
Police now believe all nine young men, who ranged in age from 18 to 20, knew each other and had been arguing for hours.
Several of them could face criminal charges.
