Swimmer likely drowns in Lake Arlington

ARLINGTON, Texas - The search resumed Wednesday for a man who likely drowned in Lake Arlington.

According to the Arlington Fire Department, the man was swimming Tuesday afternoon and his boat drifted away. He could not reach it and family members saw him go under.

Two people jumped into the water to try to save him but they couldn’t find him. He was not wearing a life jacket.

Divers and searchers with sonar looked for the man’s body until it got too dark Tuesday night.

His name has not yet been released.
