Suspected drunken driver in McKinney kills motorcyclist

A man accused of driving drunk is behind bars after killing a motorcyclist in McKinney.

Gonzalo Aguilar, 40, was arrested Monday morning after police said he hit and killed 31-year-old James Bowman Rackler III.

Police said Aguilar had stopped on the shoulder of Highway 380 near FM 1827. He tried to make an illegal U-turn and ended up hitting Rackler’s motorcycle.

Rackler was thrown from his bike. He died at the scene.

Aguilar is now facing charges of intoxication manslaughter, a second-degree felony.
