Police believe a high school student was making a drug deal when he was shot and killed in a parking garage last week.

Rene Montanez, 23, was arrested over the weekend and is facing capital murder charges for the death of 18-year-old Joey Pintucci.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Montanez and two others stole drugs from Pintucci and then shot him Thursday night in the parking garage of the Shops at Park Lane, which is across the street from NorthPark Center near Whole Foods Market and Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Investigators were able to watch surveillance video of the shooting and interview several people who witnessed the crime. They also determined that Pintucci and the suspect had communicated through Snapchat just before the fatal shooting

Police are still looking for the two other suspects. They released a sketch of one of the suspects who is believed to be the shooter.

He’s described as a Latin male around 18 or 19 years old who is about 5 feet 6 inches tall and 130 pounds. He has a golden with diamonds on his teeth and was wearing a grey hoodie with jeans. He may have been in a black 2005 Chevy Tahoe.
