Student diagnosed with whooping cough at Grapevine HS

Grapevine High School is warning parents and staff after a tenth grader came down with a confirmed case of pertussis, which is also known as whooping cough.

The district sent home a letter to parents this week.

The bacterial infection is usually mild in older children and adults but can be serious for newborns and young infants.

The school is reminding students and staff to wash their hands and educating students on good health practices.
