Standoff in Garland ends after man shoots and kills himself
A standoff in Garland ended after a man shot and killed himself Saturday morning.
The standoff started when he made threats that he was going to kill himself and others, Garland police said.
He barricaded himself inside a home on Geneva Street, near Highway 78 and the President George Bush turnpike, around 2:00 a.m.
SWAT officers were called to the scene. They put a phone through a window around 2:30 a.m. but shortly after that a gunshot was heard, police said.
A camera was used to determine that the armed man was not moving. Officers found out the man shot and killed himself.
No one else was hurt.
